HUNTSVILLE — The football jersey of Marine Cpl. Rusty L. Washam will be retired in a special pregame ceremony prior to Friday's Scott High/York Institute game at Highlander Field.

Cpl. Washam was killed in Iraq on February 14 when his Humvee was struck by a roadside bomb. He graduated from Scott High School in 2003 and was a three-year member of the Highlanders football team.

A framed jersey and photo of Cpl. Washam will be presented to SHS Principal Sharon Wilson during the ceremony. The jersey will hang inside Scott High School.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:10 p.m. Kickoff of Friday's game is set for 7:30 p.m.
