OHS debuts in Top Ten in rankings

Oneida debuted in the top ten in the Earl Nall Tennessee Prep Performance Ratings, which were released yesterday by TSSAA football guru Earl Nall.
The rankings are released following each week of the regular season.
Oneida debuted at #9 in the Class A rankings, after two shutout victories to start the season. The Indians defeated Wartburg 41-0 in Week 0 and McCreary Central 14-0 in Week 1.
Placing just ahead of Oneida, in eigth place, was Region 2-A foe Coalfield. The Indians and Yellow Jackets will square off on Friday night at Dr. M.E. Thompson Field.
Jackson Christian topped the Prep Performance Ratings, despite starting the season off with a loss. Friendship Christian (2-0) followed in second, South Pittsburg (2-0) was third, Trousdale County (1-1) was fourth and Fayatte Academy (2-0) was fifth. Jo Byrns (2-0) was sixth, Trinity Christian (1-0) was seventh, followed by Coalfield and Oneida, and McEwen (2-0) rounded out the top ten. Among other Region 2 teams, Midway (0-1) ranked 18th, Harriman (1-1) ranked 32nd, Greenback (0-2) ranked 41st, Sunbright (0-1) ranked 49th and Oakdale (0-2) ranked 57th.
Scott High, meanwhile, ranked 45th in the Class 3A Prep Performance Ratings. Other Region 2-3A teams included Catholic (2-0) at second, Fulton (1-0) at fourth, Livingston Academy (0-1) at 11th, Kingston (1-0) at 12th, Anderson County (0-1) at 15th and Austin-East (0-2) in 20th.
