Peebles store plans November opening
Scott County will soon have a new clothing store, as Peebles announced Monday evening that it is planning a Nov. 13 grand opening at a new location in Oneida.
In a brief statement late Monday, Stage Stores, Peebles’ parent company, announced the new location, which will be in Oneida Plaza, in the old Food City building.
“Peebles has a reputation for bringing style, selection, value and convenient, close-to-home locations to neighborhoods and small communities across the country,” the company said in a news release.
“Peebles will offer one-stop shopping with misses, juniors, men’s, children’s, shoes, fragrances, accessories, and home accents departments all under one roof.
Brand names carried by Peebles include Sag Harbor, RQT, Estee Lauder and Clinique fragrances, Izod, Levi’s, Southpole, U.S. Polo Assn., Unionbay, Company 81, Dockers, Chaps, Columbia, Van Heusen, Skechers, Nike, Clarks, Jockey, Carter’s and more.
“Peebles offers great benefits,” the company said. “Customers age 50 and over can enroll in an exclusive discount program, and all shoppers can sign up to receive e-mail alerts for upcoming sales and events. Peebles customers also have access to a store-branded credit card and VIP Rewards Program, which offers invitations to exclusive savings events, free gift wrapping and more, based on annual credit card purchases.”
Construction contractors have been busy since the spring preparing the store location, although apparent changes to the exterior of the building only became visible in recent weeks.
Last week, Peebles announced — via a paid advertisement in the Independent Herald — that it was accepting applications for several positions at its new location, including full-time assistant managers and part-time clerks and custodians. Open interviews are scheduled for Oct. 8 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Oneida Municipal Courtroom in the Oneida Municipal Services Building across the street from the store location.
