Oneida girl seriously injured in ATV crash

WINFIELD — A 15-year-old Oneida girl was seriously injured in an all terrain vehicle accident Sunday in the Gum Fork area near here.

The accident reportedly occurred when the girl’s four-wheeler apparently struck the Jellico Creek Bridge, tossing her from the ATV and down a 20-ft. embankment.

Jada Wilson, 15, remained hospitalized at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville at press time, where she was being treated for her injuries. She is a student at Oneida High School.

Following the accident, Wilson was transported by Scott County EMS to St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County, where she was airlifted to UT Medical Center.

The accident was being investigated by Deputy Kevin Marlow of the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
