HUNTSVILLE — A Scott County man has been indicted on numerous felony counts in a serious child abuse case.
A grand jury handed down the indictment here Tuesday against Roger Dwight Williams.
In a press release issued by his office, District Attorney General Wm. Paul Phillips announced that Williams has been charged with 20 felony counts, including multiple counts of rape of a child, especially aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated sexual battery.
Little more information was immediately available. Allegedly, the charges involved six different child victims under the age of 13.
The case was investigated by the Sheriff’s Department with assistance from the TBI and Department of Children’s Services. The investigation is said to be ongoing, with additional charges possible.
Bail for Williams was set at $500,000.
