Oneida Approves Requested Annexation
December 09, 2004
A requested annexation ordinance and a traffic-related ordinance were adopted on second and final readings Thursday by Oneida's Board of Mayor and Aldermen in a brief session at the Municipal Services Building.
Both ordinances came to a vote after public hearings on the ordinances were held with no comments being heard from the public.
Ordinance No. 765, which allows for the property and home of Milford E. "Red" Daniel to be included in the previously approved annexation of the Meadow Creek Subdivision, was adopted on a motion by Vice Mayor Jeff Tibbals and an all-aye vote of the board.
Ordinance No. 766, which amends a previously approved ordinance, prohibits through truck traffic on Jeffers and Sand Cut Roads. That ordinance was adopted on a motion by Alderman James Smith and an all-aye vote. Mayor Jack E. Lay stated that the ordinance was necessary due to the size of the vehicles and the narrowness of the roads.
