HUNTSVILLE - In what was otherwise a mostly routine session, the Scott County Board of Education Thursday night was recognized by the Tennessee School Board Association as a "Board of Distinction," as well as receiving a special honor for the establishment of the Museum of Scott County at Scott High School.

Updates and announcements were provided to the baord by Director of Schools Mike Davis, Scott High
Principal Sharon Wilson, Fairview Elementary Principal Linda Sharp, and Robbins Elementary Principal Marva Robbins.
Director of Schools Davis told the board of a gift of furniture (three truck loads) from the Christian Appalachian Project; provided a progress report on the construction of the new Winfield Elementary School; and introduced a resolution to allow permission forms to be sent home to parents for students wishing to participate in follow-up dental service, following a system-wide dental screening.
