Murder Suspect Harvey Transferred

By BEN GARRETT -- Independent Herald Staff

HUNTSVILLE - Murder suspect Charles Ray Harvey has been transferred out of the Scott County Jail and is currently being housed at the Tennessee Department of Correction's Special Needs Facility in Nashville, Chief Detective Robby carson said last week.

Harvey, who is charged with the July shooting death of Armando G. Loredo, has been bound over to the Grand Jury, which will convene on November 10. The 47-year-old Robbis native has been housed at the jail since his arrest on July 23.

Chief Det. Carson said that Harvey was transferred because he claims to have blood pressure and heart problems and was having to be transported to and from the facility too often. He was transferred to Nashville on October 2.

Carson said it is unlikely that Harvey will be present when the Grand Jury considers his case next month but, if indicted, he will probably appear in court when he is arraigned the Thursday after the Grand Jury meets.

Harvey's daughter, 22-year-old Vanessa Loredo, was transferred from Campbell County to Scott County in wake of her father's departure. Loredo is also charged in connection with the murder.
