Hall-of-Fame Inductees Announced

The Boys & Girls Club of Scott County has announced the 10 persons it will honor with induction into the Scott County Hall of Fame at its second-annual event on Monday.
Among those to be inducted into the Hall-of-Fame this year are Dr. H.M. Leeds (lifetime achievement), George Roark (business leader), James L. (Jamie) Cotton, Jr. (elected official), Judy Davis (philanthropist), Michael B. Swain (coach/youth mentor), Maggie Barger (K-8 educator), Clara Ellen Cox (9-12 educator), Rusty Yaden (male athlete), Lisa Marie Lewallen (female athlete),
Bert Walker (community volunteer) and the late Hubert D. "John John" Yancey (special recognition).
The Hall-of-Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony will be held on Monday at the National Guard Armory, located near the Scott County Airport in Oneida. The dinner will begin at 7 p.m. with the induction to begin at 8 p.m. This year's guest speaker is Nascar Nextel Cup driver Rusty Wallace. ESPN sports commentator Dr. Jerry Punch will also be a guest of honor.
This year's inductees will join the 20 persons who wee honored in last year's inaugural Scott County Hall-of-Fame induction.
