Kesling To Speak at Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Scott County announced the launch of a long lasting tradition of honoring the area's finest citizens and their acheivements in the fields of education, athletics, business, youth leadership, philanthropy and community involvement. Presenting sponsor of the event is First National Bank of Oneida.

Bob Kesling The Boys & Girls Clubs of Scott County will have its official dinner and induction ceremony on Tuesday, November 22, 2003, and is proud to announce the guest appearance of Bob Kesling from the University of Tennessee Vol Network as the keynote speaker for the evening.

Recognition will be for those individuals who have demonstrated excellence and are clearly identified as outsanding in their field. Nominations will be taken from the community and forms are available at the Boys & Girls Club office and at various participating locations.

Nomination criteria states that individuals be a resident of and/or work in Scott County, or have been born in Scott County.

A selection committee has been organized to review the nominations and select 10 inductees to the inaugural year of the Scott County Hall of Fame. A total of 10 individuals will be inducted in the Hall of Fame annually in subsequent years.

A Hall of Fame dinner, benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Scott County, is designated to be a major fund-raiser and will be used toward after school and summer programming for local youth. The event itself will be an induction ceremony and dinner with individual tickets and tables available for purchase. There will also be a silent auction, with a variety of items including autographed sports memorabilia, weekend get-aways, and much more. Anticipated ticket sales will be over 300 guests.

In addition to the inductions ceremony, a permanent display recognizing sponsors and inductees will be designed and constructed for public view. The display will be on view at First National Bank after the event, and will eventually be made a permanent display at the new Boys & Girls Club facility.
