Services Planned For Long-Time Educator

Funeral services for Patricia (Pat) Sue Miller Sexton have been set for 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon, with visitation set for Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Oneida.

Sexton, a longtime Scott County educator and respected member of the community, passed away on Monday at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville. She was 63.

Survived by her husband of 41 years, attorney Charley B. Sexton, Mrs. Sexton was the mother of three children: Pamela Sexton, Charles Patrick Sexton and wife Traci and Amy Jayne Sexton Leach and husband Greg.

Mrs. Sexton was a sixth-grade teacher at Burchfield Elementary School, a position she had held for many years. On Tuesday, BES Principal Randy Shelton remembered her as a dedicated teacher.

ÒMrs. Sexton will be greatly missed by students and colleagues at Burchfield School,Ó Shelton said. ÒShe brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to our staff. She was a dedicated teacher and was very active in our school and community.

ÒShe will always be remembered in the highest regard for all the lives she touched. Scott County has lost a true educator.Ó
