First Pageants Complete

BUTTRAM TAKES LITTLE MISS CROWN

Kirklynn Shyann Buttram was crowned the 2003 Little Miss Fairest of the Fair Monday night, kicking off a week-long event of pageants, competitions, displays and entertainment at the 77th Annual Scott County Fair.

Kirklynn, 4, is the daughter of Kirk and Tami Buttram, and she was sponsored in the pageant by TamiÕs Hair & Nail Salon. She attends Huntsville Headstart.

First runner-up in the pageant for four- and five-year-olds was Jacey Raine Webb, daughter of Katrina Lovett and Derek Webb. She is also four years old, and was sponsored by Botts Trucking. She attends NoahÕs Ark Learning Center.

Cierra Cheyenne Sexton was second runner-up in the pageant. Her parents are Gabe Lowe and Anthony Sexton, and she is in kindergarten at Oneida Elementary School. She is five years old and was sponsored by LoweÕs Truss Co.

Twenty-six little girls participated in Monday nightÕs pageant, and the field was narrowed to a Top Twelve and then a Top Seven before the winners were selected.

NORRIS WINS LITTLE MISS JUNIOR TITLE

Tuesday evening at the Scott County Fair saw Shyann Norris crowned the 2003 Little Miss Junior Fairest of the Fair.

Shyann, 7, is the daughter of Darek and Emily Norris and is a second grader at Burchfield Elementary School. She was sponsored by Shyann Trucking.

Amanda Ariel May was the first runner-up in the pageant for girls ages 6, 7 and 8. She is 7 and the daughter of Jimmy and Pam May. She is a second grader at Oneida Elementary School and was sponsored by JMW Excavating.

Second runner-up was Victoria Paige Newport, 8, daughter of James and Kim Newport. She was sponsored by Fabulous Stitches by Kim and is a second grader at Robbins Elementary School.

Twenty-three girls competed in the western-themed pageant. The group was narrowed to 12 semifinalists and then seven finalists before the winner and two runners-up were chosen.
