Willie Ray Simpson, 62, of Helenwood, passed away November 14, 2009, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida.
Born in Oneida, August 12, 1947, he was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Imogene Simpson.
He is survived by four daughters: Angie Simpson of Virginia, Becky Phillips and husband, Dale, of Huntsville, Keisha Letner and husband, James, of Maynardville, and Amanda Simpson of Helenwood; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four brothers: Michael Simpson and wife, Sue, of Oneida, Donnie Simpson and wife, Janet, and Phillip Simpson and wife, Rachael, all of the Capital Hill community, and Stevie Simpson of Helenwood; five sisters: Barbara Simpson, and Doris Turner and husband, Rodney, all of Atlanta, Ga., Rochell Strunk and husband, Floyd, of the Capital Hill community, Carol Harness and husband, Jeff, of Huntsville, and Deedra Simpson of Helenwood; special friend, Mildred Kay Corder, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted November 17, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating. Interment followed at Daniel Memorial Cemetery.
West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
