Tom L. Sharp, 88

Tom Lee Sharp, 88, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, formerly of Oneida, passed away December 5, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fonzo and Eldora Sharp; step-mother, Ruthie Sharp; one brother, Earl Jay Sharp; and three sisters: Lily Mae Sharp, Rubie Sharp, and Dorothy Owens.

He was a veteran of the United States Army 5th Calvary, and was a retired truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Sharp of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; his children: Tommy Joe Sharp and wife, Junea, of Oneida, Danny Sharp and wife, Angela, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Dean Sharp and wife, Teresa, and Karen Smith and husband, Paul, all of Flintstone, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Ida Stanley of Oneida; one brother, Ronald Sharp and wife, Susan, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted December 8, in the chapel of W.L. Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Interment followed at National Military Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn.
