Benson Trailers officials unveil the company's logo at a new plant on Verdun Road. The plant has since closed, one of several to bite the dust in the economic downturn.

While Scott County's unemployment rate decreased slightly in April 2009, it remains the second-highest unemployment rate in the state. Several companies have closed or announced layoffs in recent months, as the county suffers through the worst recession in almost 30 years.
