Ray D. Lloyd, 68, of the Ditney Trail community, passed away December 8, 2009, at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born in Scott County, January 18, 1941, he was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Ernie Lawson Lloyd; one son, Danny Ray Lloyd; brothers, Donald and Gaylen Lloyd; sisters: Betty Rose Lawson, Myrtle Lee, Fayola Murley, Rachel Johnson, and one infant sister; special friend, Ikey Duncan; first wife and the mother of his children, Elidee Lloyd; and one step-grandchild, Marion Alexander Goad.
He is survived by his wife, Janis Lloyd of the Ditney Trail community; children: Randy Lloyd, James Lloyd and wife, Lisa, and Theresa Coker; step-children: Eddie Harness and wife, Brenda, Rodney Harness and wife, Gail, and Candida Turner and husband, Steve; two special grandsons, seven step-grandchildren, brothers: Carlie Lloyd and wife, Vivian, Glen Lloyd and wife, Betty, and Jackie Lloyd and wife Denise; special brothers: Manuel and Seldon Davidson, and Wiley and Edith Joseph; special friend and doctor, Dr. David Cassida of Knoxville, and special friends: Wayne and Reda Chambers, Joe Davidson, Steve Bryant, Phelan Posey and Ralph Harness; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted December 11, at Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. J. R. Massengale and Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music was provided by The Brimstone Boys and Sandra Sproles. Interment followed at Norma Cemetery.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
