Ona Lee Stephens, 75, of Baytown, Texas, formerly of Scott County, passed away January 11, 2010.
Born August 19, 1934, she was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Versie Cross; her husband, Virgil Stephens; one daughter, Donna Kay Lawson; one grandson, Matthew Ray Pete; and the father of her children, Eldridge Lawson.
She is survived by her children: Charlon Faye Pete and husband, Jerry Lee Martin, of Huffman, Tex., and Joy Phillips and husband, Richard, of Crosby, Tex.; sons: Eddie Dean Lawson and wife, Donna, of Helenwood, and Harold Dee Lawson of Huntsville; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers: Aulen Cross and wife, Betty, and William Cross, all of Huntsville, Gene Cross and wife, Debra, of Pioneer, and Virgil Cross, Jr. and wife, Dawn, of Maine; sisters: Navona Butler and husband, Bob, Ruth Adams and husband, Don, and Frances Waterman and husband, Troy, all of Paducah, Ky., Mae Ridenour of Piqua, Ohio, and Jill Adkins of Holland, MI; special friend, Junior Lawson; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted January 16, at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Richard L. Phillips officiating. Music was provided by Joy Phillips, Troy Waterman, and Jimmie Ray Lloyd. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
