Martin B. (M.B.) Phillips, 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Scott County, passed away January 30. 2010.
Born in Norma, February 4, 1921, he was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Harrison and Ida Phillips; his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Phillips; brothers: T.C., M.H., and Frank Phillips; and one sister, Ruth Phillips.
He was of the Baptist faith, and was awarded the Purple Heart in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie; children: M. Linda (Don Wilder) Phillips, William “Marty” (Micky) Phillips, Robert Rodney Phillips, and Susan Delane Phillips; step-children, Rebecca and Frank Hockett; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sisters: Erma Massey Walker of Oneida, and Mary (Prentice) Mullins of St. Louis; and many other relatives
Funeral service was conducted February 3, at Lynhurst Neighborhood Funeral Home. Interment followed at Lincoln Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis, Indiana.
