Mary Allred Smith, 71

Mary Louise Allred Moffett Smith, 71, passed away December 31, 2009, at her home.

Born in Scott County, November 28, 1938, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Thomas and Rachel Lay Allred; her first husband, Jack Moffett; her second husband, Robert Smith; foster-son, George Allen Henry; and one sister, Zoe Lavern Bridges.

She was a member of Jakes Branch United Baptist Church; was a foster-mother; and helped with the United Missionary Association.

She is survived by her children: Jeri Lynn Crabtree and husband, Willie Dean, of Pioneer, Rebecca Katherine Queener and husband, Jeremy Dean, of San Antonio, Tex., Betty Rose Goad and husband, Ed, and William Charles Moffett, all of Helenwood, Wanda Sue Gulley of Knoxville, and Clara Ruth Watters and Lucinda Moffett, both of Oneida; 13 grandchildren, special cousin, Ricky Allred and wife, Molly; special nephew, J.T. Aleshire and wife, Wendy; sister, Garneda York of the Straight Fork community; special nieces: Connie Ann and Dan Hatmaker, Elaine and Steve Goad, Lee Ann and Eric Adkins; foster children: Dwayne Henry, Beverly Henry, Willie Henry, and Mark Henry and their families; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted January 3, 2010, at Straight Fork Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Crabtree and Bro. Larry Sexton officiating. Music was provided by Charlie King and the Gospel Trio. Interment followed at Allred Cemetery.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
