Margery Helen Ray Morgan, 82, of Lenoir City, passed away December 26, 2009, in Vancouver, Wash., while visiting her daughter and grandson for Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milas and Mary Young Ray; husband, Gillis Lee Morgan; two brothers, Steve and Donald Ray; two sisters, Myrtle Ray and Willie Ray; and two nephews: Ralph Smith and Kenneth Ray.
Born and raised in Oneida, she lived in Ohio for 30 years where she was very active in the Hatmaker Church of God and in the schools her children attended. She was loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a born-again Christian who prayed constantly for her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters: Karen and Joe Papania of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Judy and John Mattus of Vancouver, Wash.; one son, Gillis and Joyce Morgan of Lenoir City; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nephew, Harold David and Marilyn Ray of Yuba City, CA; special friend and cousin, Margaret Ellis of Elgin, and cousins: Dorothy Campbell, Jessie Young, and Kathleen Fulwiler; special friends, Don and Virginia Miller and Rachel Price; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted January 1, 2010, at Click Funeral Home with Kent Bailey officiating. Graveside service was conducted January 2, at Hazel Valley Cemetery in Oneida.
Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of local arrangements.
