Margaret J. Newport Potter, 90, of Helenwood, passed away July 26, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida.
Born in Helenwood, May 21, 1920, she was preceded in death by her parents, John Marion and Maude Washam Newport; her husband, Leon Potter; daughter, Joy Potter; sons: David, Gary, Charles, Douglas, and Boyce Potter; sisters: Dorothy Mabel Seabolt, Deloris Newport, and Hatti Galloway; and brother, Henry Lee Newport.
She is survived by sons: Greg Potter, and Dale Potter, both of Oneida; daughters: Eugenia Draughn and husband, Don, of Jamestown, Leonia Garrett and husband, Cauldwell, of Huntsville, and Jo Ann Hughett and husband, Roscoe, of Robbins; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister, Marie Byrd of Oneida; special friends: Gladys Jeffers and Arlie Newport; and many other relatives.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 28, from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home. Interment was to have followed at Potter Cemetery in Huntsville.
Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
