Josephine Stephens Chambers, 68

Josephine Judy Cox Stephens Chambers, 68, of Winfield, passed away December 16, 2009, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida.

Born January 12, 1941, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lacy and Myrtle Trammell Cox; one son, Glen Lacy Stephens; grandparents: Marion and Edna Trammell and Harve and Grace Cox; one brother, Charles Arthur Cox; and one sister, Mary Edna Davis.

She was a member of Gum Fork Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters: Phronsie Wilson and husband, Jessie, of Winfield, Charlene Martin and husband, James, of Oneida, and Shonda Stephens and husband, Ricky, of Pine Knot, Ky.; three sons: Gregory Stephens and Shane Stephens and wife, Lisa, all of Oneida, and James Stephens and wife, Donna, of Winfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one brother, Nick Cox and wife, Lisa, of Atlanta, Ga.; two step-children: Arlene Smith, and Morris Stephens and wife, Robin, all of Winfield; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Cox of Eaton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted December 19, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Burton officiating. Interment followed Halk Trammell Cemetery in Winfield.

West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
