Jacquette P. Sumner, 87, passed away November 24, 2009.
Born in Scott County, April 9, 1922, she was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Florence Thompson Todd; her husband, Avery Sumner; one grandson, Sean; and three brothers: Donald, Charles and Collins.
She was a very active member of Ypsilanti Assembly of God, especially the Sunday School, and she was loved by all. She was also an active member in TOPPS. She was a loving caregiver to her husband and several friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Ann Hines of Georgia; two sons: Nate Sumner and wife , Patricia, of Calif., and Ivan Sumner and wife, Marion, of Ga.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters: Virginia Watts, Vivian Gately, Betty Cable, and June Ogilvie; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted November 28, at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel with Rev. Marty Carter of Ypsilanti Assembly of God officiating. Interment followed at Washtenong Memorial Park.
