Ivalee C. Shoopman, 82

Ivalee Carroll Shoopman, 82, of the Smokey Junction community, passed away January 20, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida.

Born in Scott County, April 23, 1927, she was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh (Poppy) and Lottie Lowe Carroll; her husband, Hurstle Shoopman; children: Claudine Phillips, and Elsie, Louise, Pyre (Doc), and Vickie Sue Shoopman; grandchildren: Claude Anthony Phillips and Gideon Lee Brown; sisters: Cassie, Angeline, Carrie, Nancy, Magnolia, Jhonnie, Billy, Arnie, Nerva, and Hattie; and brothers: Dester, Wiley, Columbus, and Samp.

She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons: Hugh Carroll, and Kern Shoopman and wife, Marlene, all of Indiana; daughters: Karen Gale Davenport of Clinton, and Sherry Lynn Brown and husband, Grover Lee, of Helenwood; son, Jhonnie Lee Shoopman of the Smokey Junction community; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Graveside service was conducted January 24, at Riverview Cemetery.

West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
