Jellico missed a point-blank look at the end of regulation and Oneida controlled the overtime segment, as the Indians defeated the Blue Devils 61-56 in a makeup game at OHS Gymnasium Saturday evening.
The Indians pulled ahead of Jellico and into third place in District 4-A with the win, while Jellico dropped to fourth in the highly-competitive district.
Cody Carson scored 20 points to lead the way for Oneida, while Dylan West added 19, Jake Wright 13, Tyler Blevins five, Clay Jeffers two and Noah Duncan two.
Dustin Smitty led Jellico with 15 points.
Oneida 64, Wartburg 57: Dylan West scored 22 ponts, while Cody Carson added 18 and Jake Wright 16, as Oneida defeated Wartburg at OHS Gymnasium Friday.
Zachary Shannon scored 20 to lead the Bulldogs.
Also scoring for Oneida were Noah Duncan with five, Mark Miller with two and Clay Jeffers with one.
Oneida was to have traveled to Knoxville on Tuesday to face the Ambassadors, ending a stretch of six games in nine days.
Tomorrow (Friday), Coalfield will visit OHS Gymnasium. The Indians will travel to Jellico on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
