Grace Marie Sumner, 86, of Oneida, passed away December 24, 2009, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida.
Born in Stearns, Kentucky, August 1, 1923, she was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Ella Ester Kidd; her husband, Leslie S. Sumner; one son, Leslie Scott Sumner, Jr.; three brothers: Jessie Lee, Linden, and Hollis Kidd; brothers- and sister-in-law: Robert Terry, Theron Phillips, and Imogene Kidd; and father- and mother-in-law, Dave and Ella Jane Sumner.
She was a member of Macedonia Christian Center.
She is survived by one brother, James Archie Kidd and wife, Fannie, of Kentucky; three sisters: Pauline Duff and husband, Shelby, Louise Phillips, and Jewell Terry, all of Oneida; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Ann Kidd of Oneida, and Gladys Mae Ruth, Lela Jett and husband, Ted, and Minnie Garland, all of Stearns, Ky., and Elsie Schonegge of Ind.; brothers-in-law: Dexter Sumner and wife, Jeannie, of Seattle, Wash., and Lawrence Sumner and wife, Unavee, of Ohio; special friends: Bruce and Kathy Slaven, Elizabeth Ellis, Susan Loesch, Jill Bennett, and Kay Breeding; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted December 27, at Macedonia Christian Center with Bro. Ronnie Duncan and Bro. Bobby Terry officiating. Music was provided by the Duncan Family and the Lloyd/Terry Family.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida had charge of arrangements.
