Gaither Griffith, 66, of Robbins, passed away November 18, 2009, at his home.
Born in Scott County, July 16, 1943, he was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Rich; grandparents: Gilbert Griffith and Odesie Griffith; and two uncles, Ernest and Arzo Griffith.
He worked for Ford Motor Company, retiring after 28 years. He had a love for the Tennessee Volunteers, and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler on Brimstone, where he never met a stranger. He was baptized at Broadway Assembly in Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Vinadean Shannon Griffith of Robbins; three children: Jackie Blankinsop and husband, Bill, of Berlin Heights, Ohio, and Johnny Griffith and Jason Griffith and wife, Kim, all of Robbins; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, mother, Opal Sexton and step-father, Boyant Sexton; brothers: Harold Griffith of Robbins, and Steve Rich and Ralph Rich, both of Dayton, Ohio; sisters: Louise, Charlotte, and Pam, all of Dayton, Ohio; step-mother, Alta Rich; aunts and uncles: Ivazie O’Neal, Ethel Hamby, Edith Shannon, Nadine Fredrick, Flonnie Zachary, Shirley Lawson, and Bill, Delbert, Tommy, and Ira Griffith; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted November 20, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Frank Griffith and Bro. Jack Lawson officiating. Music was provided by the Hamby Brothers, and Kimberly Griffith. Graveside service was conducted November 21, at Lone Mt. Cemetery in the Brimstone community.
