Franklin D. Marcum, 76, passed away January 10, 2010, at Countryside Manor Nursing Facility in Anderson, Indiana.
Born in Oneida, February 3, 1933, he was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Dorothy Burk Marcum; three children: Robert Glenn Marcum, Sheila Rose Marcum, and Pamela Sue Reynolds; two brothers, Milford and Ray Marcum; and one sister, Kizzie Sharp.
He retired from Delco Remy in 1997 and moved back to Oneida, and returned to live in Indiana in 2006 after his illness. He enjoyed farming, horseback riding, and church. He was a member of New Beginnings Church in Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Wyvonda West Marcum; two sons: Gary and Diana Marcum of Anderson, Ind., and Steve and Rhonda Marcum of Murfreesboro; one daughter, Tela and Mike Barker of Pendleton, Ind.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers: Burkey and Ada Marcum, and Marion Marcum, all of Scott County; one sister, Winnie Ruth Justice of Scott County; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted January 12, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Gary Marcum and Steve Marcum officiating. Graveside service was to have been conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Marcum-Kidd Cemetery.
Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
