Ervie Edna Overton, 90, of Robbins, passed away November 17, 2009, at St. Mary’s West Hospital in Knoxville.
Born in Scott County, August 18, 1919, she was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Laura Sexton Overton; brothers: Arvil, Lloyd, and Arlie Overton, and one infant; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Harold Strunk, Alton Payne, Lorene Overton, and Novella Overton; and niece, Kelly Overton.
She was a member of Lone Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters: Glennis Payne of Robbins, Mattie Goad and husband, Billie Joe, and Mae Olmstead and husband, Eugene, all of Sunbright, and Betty L. Strunk of Huntsville; sister-in-law, Maxine Overton; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted November 19, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory Overton officiating. Music was provided by the Hamby Brothers. Graveside service was conducted November 20, at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
