Edith Mae Marcum, 85, of Oneida, passed away November 10, 2009, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida.
Born in Scott County, July 31, 1924, she was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Blannie Trammell Thompson; her husband, James Wallace Marcum; one daughter, Beverly Cook; one grandson, Dempsey Marcum Hadley; two brothers: O.H. Thompson and Teddy Duncan; and two sisters: Edna Jeffers and Hattie Acres.
She is survived by her sons: Jerry W. Marcum and wife, Christy, and James Phillip Marcum, all of Oneida; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one brother, Merchison Thompson; special friends, Kathy Rose and Jeannie Sears; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted November 12, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph McGaha and Bro. John Vernon Thompson officiating. Music was provided by John Thompson, Jr. Graveside service was conducted November 13, at Marcum-Kidd Cemetery.
Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
