ROBBINS — A Scott County woman was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital in the aftermath of a single-vehicle accident on West Robbins Road here Sunday afternoon.
Diana Reynolds, 55, was injured after losing control of her Toyota Rav4 sport utility vehicle.
According to an accident report filed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Boshears, Reynolds was northbound on West Robbins Road near Elgin when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a large evergreen tree. The crash resulted in the tree snapping and toppling onto Reynolds’ vehicle.
Reynolds was transported by Scott County EMS to a helipad at the nearby Mtn. People’s Clinic at Elgin, where she was airlifted by Lifestar helicopter to University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Her injuries were said to be non-life threatening.
Assisting Trooper Boshears and two EMS units at the scene was the South Scott Volunteer Fire Department and Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
