Cosby Phillips, 83

Cosby Phillips, 83, of Annadell, passed away January 27, 2010, at his home.

Born in Scott County, May 8, 1926, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Wesley and Nannie Pike Phillips; one daughter, Lena Louise Phillips; grandson, Little Lawrence Stringfield; two brothers, Oscar Phillips and Fred Pike; one sister, Cordellia Pike; and father- and mother-in-law, Ezra and Arizona Jeffers.

He is survived by his wife, Nola Jeffers Phillips; children: Terri Bowling and husband, Ray, Jackie Botts, Janet Phillips, Jean Phillips, Vickie Phillips, Tammy Phillips, Cosby Junior Phillips, and Sheila Lawson and husband, Darrell; 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one brother, Eli Bud Phillips; four sisters: Margie Carson, Eva Pike, Lula Phillips, and Erma Jean Phillips; special friend, Jerry Phillips, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted February 2, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Carlie Duncan, Bro. Sammy Yancy, and Bro. James E. Dunn, Sr. officiating. Music was provided by Cory and Mark Rich, and the Gospel Trio. Interment followed at Sexton Cemetery in the Paint Rock community.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
