Bobby Gene Gibson, 63, of Winona, passed away February 18, 2010, at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center.
Born July 29, 1946, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ermon Gibson and Marie Cook Gibson Strunk; two brothers, Gather and Glendell “Bootsie” Gibson; and father- and mother-in-law, Marion and Hazel Goad.
He was an ordained minister and member of Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rena Goad Gibson; children: Patricia Lay and husband, Mark, of the Capital Hill community, Bobby Gibson Jr. and wife, Stacy, of the Ditney Trail community, and Kenny Gibson and wife, Crystal, of Winona; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one brother, Jimmy Ray Gibson of the Bull Creek community; three sisters: Linda Ward of Winona, Dorothy Phillips of Huntsville, and Darlene Harp of Oneida; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted February 21, at Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Massengale officiating. Music was provided by the Lloyd Family, Linda Massengale, and Tammy Hutson. Interment followed at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
