Arlenia West, 96, of the Grave Hill community, passed away March 6, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida.
Born December 13, 1913, she was preceded in death by her parents, W.H. and Martha Marcum Thomas; step-mother, Litha Thomas; her husband, Jonathan (Bud) West; sisters and brothers: Lille Terry and husband, Burdow, Reason West and wife, Mary, Oscar Thomas and wives, Ethel and Maye, Flora Phillips and husband, General C., Walter Thomas and wife, Rachel, Arthur Thomas and wife, Rosetta, Maude Carson and husband, Herman, Frona Watters and husband, C.L. (Trigger), Tolbert Thomas and wives, Mabel and Connie, Lona Daugherty and husband, Estus, and Bertha Terry and husband, Lester; and sister-in-law, Reva Thomas.
She was a member of Grave Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by one brother, John M. Thomas; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted March 9, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Kazee and Rev. Joe Blevins officiating. Music was provided by Jake Autry. Interment followed at Marcum-Kidd Cemetery.
West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
