Andrew Jackson Parton, 82, of Harriman, passed away October 31, 2009, at The Bridge in Rockwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Inis Parton; his wife, Selma Tompkins Parton; one brother, Gordon Parton; and brother-in-law, Nathan Jones.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church; and loved fishing, singing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one son, Randall Parton and wife, Crystal; two grandchildren, one brother, Doyle Parton; one sister, Francis Simms; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Jones, Mary Ruth and Dave Nichols, Clyde Tompkins, Chester and June Tompkins, and special in-laws, Sheila Barnwell and Logan Walker.
Funeral service was conducted November 2, at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman with Pastor Tim Giddens officiating. Graveside service was conducted November 3, at Piney Grove Cemetery.
