JoAnn Shoemaker, 89

JoAnn Shoemaker, 89, passed away September 2, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, following a short illness.

Born in Robbins, July 4, 1930, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Shoemaker; parents, George W. Sr., and Audrey Goad Boles; brothers, George W. Boles, Jr., and John C. Boles; in-laws: Pharo and Mabel Shoemaker, Vida (Russell) Walker, Thelma Shoemaker, Roy Branim, Charles Shoemaker, Harold (Vonnell) Shoemaker, Donna Bowling, and Ted Crabtree.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church-Robbins, having been the oldest member. In addition, she served as church clerk, Sunday School teacher, and organist for more than half a century.

She is survived by her son, Alan (Velta) Shoemaker; grandsons, Ethan Shoemaker and Jeremy Shoemaker; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Shiloh, Shayla, Kennedy, and Caden; brother, William H. (Betty) Boles, Sr.; in-laws: Sue Boles, Shirley Boles, Reba Branim, Doris Shoemaker, Ruth (Esau, Jr.) Burchfield, Margaret Crabtree, Patty Lynch, Wayne (Janet) Shoemaker, and Marty (Brenda) Shoemaker; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was conducted September 4, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home-Oneida with Bro. Mike Smithers officiating. Music was provided by First Baptist Church choir. Graveside service was conducted September 5, at Hawn Shoemaker Family Cemetery.
