Charlie Allen Sr., 87

Charlie Allen, Sr., 87, of Winfield, passed away July 23, 2014, at home with family at his side.

Born in Campbell County, July 9, 1927, he was preceded in death by his parents, Pryor and Minnie Bolton Allen;  first wife and the mother of his children, Leah June Botts Allen; son, Charlie Allen, Jr.; wife, Vida Neal Allen; brothers, David and Bill Allen; and sisters, Rosella Cross and Dinah Brewer

He was a former member and deacon of Annadell Baptist Church for many years before becoming a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters: Charlene (Bruce) Terry, Pauline (Daryl) Krahn, and Regina Allen; son, Rick (Vicki) Allen; grandchildren: Michael, Lisa, Jason, Jeremy, Jordan, Jeni, Sam, Brian, Jessica, Danielle, Bryce, Casey, and Amanda; 19 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted July 24, in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Davis officiating. Music was provided by Diane Massengale and Tammy Hutson. Graveside service was conducted July 25, at Botts Cemetery.
